Update: UK Sanctions List Changes (Effective January 2026)
We are making a series of updates to the UK sanctions screening data within SILO in preparation for the UK’s move to a single consolidated sanctions list.
As announced by the UK Government following a cross-government review of sanctions implementation and enforcement, the UK will move to having one official list for all UK sanctions designations. As a result, from 28 January 2026, the UK Sanctions List will become the sole source of UK sanctions designations, following the closure of the OFSI Consolidated List of Asset Freeze Targets.

What’s Changing in SILO
To align with this transition, updates are being applied to the screening data within SILO. These changes affect how UK sanctions information is structured and displayed, but do not require any action from users.
The updates are reflected as follows:
All subjects included in the UK Sanctions List now appear under regime-specific entries, for example:
“UK Sanctions List – The Haiti (Sanctions) Regulations 2022”.The sanctions body remains unchanged and continues to appear as:
United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Each UK sanctions entry now has the UK Sanctions List Unique ID embedded directly within the sanctions regime entry, for example:
United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office – HAI0010 – United Kingdom. The Unique ID also appears in the Identifiers section of the profile. The identifier name has been updated from
“HMT OFSI UK Sanctions List Ref” to “UK Sanctions List Unique ID”.Sanctions measures remain unchanged. Asset Freeze, Travel Ban, and Other continue to be the measures actively used within SILO.
Existing HMT OFSI entries are not being deleted and will remain available for reference to the sanctions history of listed subjects.
The OFSI Group ID remains unchanged and continues to appear in both the Identifiers section and the regime entry.
The Investment Ban List is not integrated into the UK Sanctions List and will continue to be handled as a separate regime within SILO, consistent with the current approach.
There is no change to how this data is delivered or displayed in SILO.
What This Means for You
You may notice changes in how UK sanctions matches appear, particularly where regime names are more granular. This is expected and reflects the updated structure of the UK Sanctions List.
No configuration changes or user action are required.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] or use the chat support within SILO.
