This article provides guidance for preparing your SILO environment in anticipation of an AML regulatory inspection. It outlines steps users can take before, during, and after an inspection to ensure readiness and streamline support engagement.

1. Before Receiving an Inspection Notice

Self-Assessment: SILO Utilization Review

Senior Compliance users and Administrators can run key reports to assess SILO usage and data completeness. The effectiveness of these reports depends on accurate data input and proper usage of SILO modules:

  • Training Module

  • Risk Scoring

  • Screening Configuration

  • Approval Workflow

  • Periodic Reviews

If you would like a formal SILO Utilization Review by our team, contact your Account Manager.

2. Upon Receiving an Inspection Notice

Notify SILO Support

Send an email to [email protected] with the following:

  • Date of the inspection period

  • Any relevant report or document deadlines

We will flag all related support tickets as high priority and coordinate accordingly.

Requesting Support

If your regulator requests reports that SILO cannot generate natively, our team can assist via backend SQL queries.

To enable this:

  • Provide a signed Access Approval Form (your Account Manager will supply this)

  • Clearly specify which reports or datasets are needed

Support Access Setup

Cloud Licensees:

  • Your SILO Administrator must enable temporary support access for our team

On-Premises Licensees:

  • Schedule a coordination call between SILO support and your IT administrator to allow backend access

  • Note that turnaround times will depend on your IT team’s availability

3. After the Inspection

After Audit Review

We recommend scheduling a debrief call with your Account Manager and any SILO team members who supported your inspection. This review helps:

  • Improve future audit efficiency

  • Identify areas for system or process enhancement

4. Proactive Preparation Tips

  • Don’t wait for a notice. Begin audit prep if:

    • You haven’t had an inspection recently

    • Past audits revealed unresolved issues

    • Your team has experienced turnover or procedural changes

    • New regulations or red flags have emerged

Being proactive reduces last-minute stress and ensures your compliance posture is strong year-round.
